Now listen — a beautiful white LDS temple dress can stay lovely for years if you treat it kindly.

At White Elegance, we have more than 30 years of experience caring for white fabrics and helping women keep their LDS temple dresses and LDS temple gowns looking fresh, bright, and beautiful. And the good news is, it is not difficult. It just takes a little wisdom and a little consistency — which, frankly, is true of most worthwhile things.

First, wash your white temple clothing on a delicate cycle in cold water. That is the safest place to start for most White Elegance dresses. Please do not use bleach, and do not use products with bleach in them. Also, as surprising as it may sound, Woolite can turn whites yellow, so that is one to avoid too.

Delicate Cycle, Always!

For our lace LDS temple dresses, use a mesh delicate laundry bag. This helps protect the lace from catching on zippers, Velcro, or other rude little hazards in the wash. Lace is lovely, but it does not enjoy being dragged into battle.

When it comes to drying, LDS temple dresses and white temple dresses are best dried flat or hung to dry. Just do not use a wire hanger if you can help it, because stretched-out shoulders are a sadness nobody needs. A padded hanger is best, though anything gentler than wire will do.

For makeup stains on your White Elegance temple dresses, we often recommend Shout, Fels Naptha, or Carbona for grass, dirt, and makeup. Those can be very helpful little miracle workers.

If your dress needs ironing, make sure your iron is clean and your heat setting is safe for the fabric. Steaming is another wonderful option because the heat does not touch the fabric directly.

A little loving care goes a long way. And a well-cared-for LDS temple dress will bless you for years to come.
